Writers to Watch Out For
Look out, Vancouver! There are some great writers coming your way!
If you are a lover of books and/or aspiring to be a writer, check out these events that are happening in the next few months.
1. If you are in North Vancouver in April, there is a Writers Festival that is completely free and open to public. At the Festival, you can meet some published authors. There will also be author readings and a fun Literary Trivia Night.

2. Do you want to be involved in books for young readers? Come to the Central Library for a panel discussion and ask your long-awaited questions about the industry to six professional children’s authors and illustrators. This is helpful knowledge for anyone who’s hoping to break into the publishing field.

3. Serendipity 2017: From Beginning to End is an event that is happening at the University of British Columbia where three authors (Jeremy Tankard, Jennifer A. Nielsen, and Martha Brockenbrough) will talk about their books which are focused on the transition from child to teen.

4. There are also some great books being published by our own Canadian authors in 2017.
The story is set in Montreal. It’s about two orphans: one a piano prodigy and the other is a dancer who fall in love with each other and have dreams of creating a circus. Coupled with the simple yet whimsical cover, the book looks to be a fun read.

If you want to read a book about a diverse family, look no further. This book features four parents, adopted children and a whole cast of pets.
